Omaha new construction

D.R. Horton homes in Omaha, Nebraska

D.R. Horton has become one of the biggest new-construction players in the Omaha metro. If you are comparing one of their homes, the useful question is not simply whether you like the floor plan. It is how that home, lot, neighborhood, incentives, taxes, inspections and resale position compare with your other options.

Current Omaha presence

D.R. Horton has a large footprint across the metro.

As of September 11, 2026, D.R. Horton’s Omaha-area inventory page showed 23 communities and 153 homes for sale. That inventory changes quickly, so I treat those numbers as a snapshot rather than a permanent count.

Omaha

Communities include areas in northwest and west Omaha, with a mix of ranch, 1.5-story and two-story plans.

Elkhorn & Bennington

D.R. Horton has multiple active communities in the northwest growth corridor, including Elkhorn and Bennington addresses.

Gretna & Papillion

Southwest Omaha and Sarpy County are also major parts of the builder’s current new-construction inventory.

Examples

Some D.R. Horton communities worth comparing

These are examples from current builder inventory, not a complete list. Availability, pricing and incentives can change without much warning.

Belterra

Papillion-area new construction with multiple floor-plan options and current completed or near-completed inventory.

Parkview

Gretna-area homes near one of the metro’s fastest-growing residential corridors.

Woodbrook Valley

Elkhorn-area inventory with ranch and two-story options.

Westbrook Hills

Northwest Omaha inventory with nearby Bennington and Omaha-area alternatives.

Deer Crest

Northwest Omaha community with several production-home floor plans.

Oak Leaf

Papillion-area new construction with a mix of ranch and two-story plans.

Lakewood West

Bellevue-area D.R. Horton new construction near South 54th Street and Highway 370, with ranch and two-story options.

Windsor West

Southwest Omaha D.R. Horton community near 185th and Meridian with ranch, 1.5-story and two-story options.

Important: Builder websites are great for seeing what is being marketed today. I still verify the specific home, MLS status, lot, taxes, SID/HOA information, included features and contract terms before treating anything as settled.

Celebrity Homes transition

What happened to Celebrity Homes?

If you are still searching for Celebrity Homes in Omaha, there was a major change in 2026. D.R. Horton agreed to acquire Celebrity Homes’ remaining lots and floor plans. Celebrity planned to finish homes already under construction and remain available for warranty obligations, while D.R. Horton would build out the remaining lots.

That means older Omaha searches, floor-plan names and resale listings may still reference Celebrity even though new development has shifted toward D.R. Horton.

Before signing

What should you compare before signing a D.R. Horton contract?

Price vs. incentive

A lender credit or promotional rate can be valuable, but it should be compared with price, closing costs and alternative financing.

Lot & location

The same floor plan can be a very different purchase depending on lot position, neighboring development and future phases.

Inspection & warranty

New does not mean “do not inspect.” I want the inspection, walkthrough and warranty process understood before closing.

Compare your options

Looking at a D.R. Horton home in Omaha?

I can help you compare it against other new construction and resale homes without turning the process into a sales pitch. The goal is simply to make sure the home and the deal both make sense.
